Bald tyre, no MOT, one kid standing, others not in seatbelts - is this Manchester's most idiotic driver?

Police have caught two parents allowing their child to stand up in a car on the motorway.

Traffic officers pulled the vehicle over after spotting the unrestrained boy standing up between his parents as they drove on the M60.

After the vehicle was stopped near the Trafford Centre on Saturday, officers discovered two more children in the car who were also not wearing seatbelts.

They also discovered that the car had a bald tyre and didn't have an MOT.

Officers made the parents properly restrain their children, and have reported them for all the offences.

Describing the incident on Twitter, GMP Traffic wrote: "Vehicle stopped earlier by #ME51 after being seen on M60 with a child unrestrained, stood between his parents.3 children found not to be restrained. The vehicle had no MOT and a bald rear offside tyre. Reported for all offences & made to restrain children properly @NWmwaypolice."

It is a legal requirement for children under the age of 14 to wear seatbelts in cars.

Drivers can be fined up to £500 if a child is not in the correct car seat or wearing a seat belt.
