Balamory stars hint at reunion special as show celebrates 20th anniversary

Two of the stars of Balamory have said they would be up for a reunion special of the hit children's show - which celebrated it's 20-year anniversary earlier this month.

The popular BBC show ran for four series from 2002 to 2005 and followed the residents of the fictional town of Balamory in Scotland.

Various colourful characters like PC Plum, Josie Jump and Archie the Inventor entertained millions of families during the original run - and now some of the stars have dropped hints about a reunion.

Julie Wilson Nimmo (Miss Hoolie) and Juliet Cadzow (bus driver Edie McCredie) spoke to BBC Radio West Midlands recently about their memories of the show.

Julie explained: "It’s weird when you think about it, because different bands get back together, and I was saying the other day, we were kind of like a band, you kind of go, our gang could get back together.

"You see The Rolling Stones doing it, so you think, why not?”

This was echoed by Juliet, who noted that she could "definitely, absolutely ,slide down that pole again, no bother!”, referencing the famous fireman’s pole inside Edie McCredie’s home.

Speaking to This Morning, Andrew Agnew (PC Plum himself) revealed why he thought the show was so successful: "We as characters always got there slightly after the kids, the idea was that the kids would work out what was happening before we did."

All three have since said that they would be up for filming new episodes of Balamory, but that there currently aren't any conversations around this happening.
