Balaclava gang at large after frightening robbery in quiet Meath town

A balaclava gang are at large after a frightening burglary occurred in a quiet Meath town.

Gardai are hunting the gang and have appealed to the public for assistance after the robbery occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning in Oldcastle.

The four-strong gang broke into the premises on the Cavan Road at around 1:30am.

Officers are appealing for anyone who was in the area who seen anyone acting suspiciously to get in touch to help track down the gang.

Gardai said: "Gardaí at Oldcastle are investigating a burglary which occurred at a premises on the Cavan Road, Oldcastle in the early hours of this morning.

"The break in, involving 4 males wearing balaclavas, occurred at approximately 1.30am this morning.

"If you were in the area at the time and you noticed anyone acting suspiciously, please contact Kells Garda Station on 046 9280820 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111."
