A bakery has gone viral with an unusual new creation - the 'vulva-nut'.
After Doe Bakehouse began to receive requests for male genitalia cakes for hen parties, the company thought it only right to make a female equivalent.
Doe Bakehouse, which has a branch in Harrogate as well as two more stores in York, has become known for its creative goodies since opening back in summer 2020, Yorkshire Live writes.
Lotus Biscoff and Percy Pig doughnuts have proved popular - but the bakery's latest offering has delighted some customers and horrified others.
The strawberry glazed treat with a strawberry lace, sprinkles and hidden chocolate is entitled a 'vulva-nut' and quickly were shared across social media as well as making an appearance on Channel 4's daytime show, Steph's Packed Lunch.
Owner Evie Jackson shared how the creation came about: "A year ago, we began creating penis doughnuts after we got requests from hen parties.
"But another customer got in touch, asking if we did a female equivalent, as they wanted to celebrate their daughter coming out."
Evie didn't expect to receive any negativity as the penis doughnuts had proved such a hit but when she posted to the company's social media, some followers deemed the sweet treats as 'inappropriate' or 'a bit much'.
Evie continued: "No-one cares about the penis doughnut but were appalled by the vulva one.
"Why male anatomy only? It's just a body part.

"The Instagram reaction was great but the Facebook targeted market weren't as happy."
Racking up thousands of likes, Evie said that actually, the doughnuts have brought in a whole new customer base, with the doughnuts being called 'epic' and 'the perfect present for Valentine's Day'.
Evie added: "we noticed there were a lot of midwives who bought them.
"We'd previously sold doughnuts in the shape of boobs for breast cancer awareness day.
"It's body positivity - if a child sees it, it's just a body part."
On social media, Doehouse Bakehouse called them 'a female celebration.'
When Steph's Packed Lunch shared a snap of the treats waiting for them backstage, Evie said she was 'ecstatic'.
She said: "Before it seemed fifty-fifty with people for and against.
"But the show caused much more positivity."
Currently, the vulva-nut can only be pre-ordered for collection but Evie hopes it can eventually be added to their postal service.
