Baker Mayfield walks out of press conference in frustration over bad question

Baker Mayfield hit his breaking point with the repetitive questions in his press conference on Wednesday. After being interrupted by an interviewer who was trying to steer his answer and coax discord, Mayfield angrily cut his press conference short and left the podium.

The Browns QB was in the process of answering a question about the end of the first half and the failed drive when he was stopped by the questioner from finishing his explanation. Mayfield snapped.

“Stop saying ‘but’,” Mayfield said sternly. “I just told you the clock was running and we had a penalty. Do you want to give them the ball back?

No. You don’t play. You don’t know. It’s plain and simple.”

Grossi then asked if Mayfield was happy the drive failed. That really set off a bemused Mayfield.

“Was I happy with the drive?! No, we didn’t score points. That’s the dumbest question you could ask. What?”

At that point, Mayfield ended the exchange and the press conference

Many captured the end of the exchange where Mayfield cut the presser short. Note that the full interaction is not shown here:
