Baker Mayfield suffered partially torn labrum in Week 2

Ever since Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield left the team’s Week 2 win over the Houston Texans with an injury to his left shoulder, there have been questions about the exact nature and severity of the injury. Mayfield hasn’t missed any time after quickly returning to the game, and he’s been a full participant in practices. But Mayfield is indeed hurting.

According to a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, Mayfield suffered a partially torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder during the win over Houston on Sept. 19th. The injury will not need surgery and Mayfield is expected to remain in the Browns lineup.

Mayfield has been wearing a shoulder harness ever since, and his accuracy has radically diminished since suffering the injury. He completed over 80 percent of his passes prior to getting slammed to the turf. Since then, No. 6 has completed just 53 percent in the two wins and has appeared to alter his throwing motion slightly to accommodate either the harness or the injury.
