The latest of the many faces of Baker Mayfield no longer features the handlebar mustache. Cleveland’s quarterback ditched the exotic facial coiffure and gave an odd reason for the change.
Mayfield addressed his ever-changing facial hair in his press conference on Wednesday. He stood in front of reporters with a neatly trimmed mustache tightly cropped to his upper lip, and only his upper lip. He shaved it back to that immediately after the Week 9 loss to the Denver Broncos, a game where he rocked a handlebar mustache.
“The quarterbacks have a ‘Movember’ mustache, and the original thought from me with the handlebars was, I was undefeated before Sunday with the handlebar mustache, so I shaved it off because I felt I did not deserve it,” Mayfield said.
