Baker Mayfield now has longest active streak for TD passes

When Baker Mayfield found Ricky Seals-Jones streaking uncovered across the formation for the Browns’ first touchdown in Week 4, he extended his streak to 17 straight games with a passing touchdown.

Thanks to some misfortune of others, Mayfield’s streak is the longest current string of games with a TD pass in the NFL.

Kirk Cousins of the Vikings and Atlanta’s Matt Ryan both had longer streaks entering Week 4, but they failed to throw for a touchdown in their team’s losses. That leaves Mayfield, who has thrown at least one scoring pass in every one of his 17 NFL starts.

If Mayfield keeps it up, he can match or beat the NFL record for most games with a touchdown pass to start a career. Kurt Warner holds that mark (23) from his beginnings with the “Greatest Show on Turf” Rams in 1999-2000.
