It’s not easy to fill LeBron James’ shoes as Cleveland’s biggest star. Baker Mayfield seems to be doing OK.
The Cleveland Browns quarterback shotgunned a beer while watching the Indians game on Saturday night. The chug was on the Jumbotron, with Mayfield sipping one beer before someone tossed him a new one, which Mayfield bit open and shotgunned.
That’s right: he chomped into a beer before chugging it.
The offseason has included a few successes and a few major fails when it comes to quarterbacks chugging beers. Mayfield’s chug was an obvious win, and might put him in the consideration as one of the best beer-chugging signal-callers in the NFL.
Without a doubt, he put Aaron Rodgers to shame.
Tom Brady and Matthew Stafford have inserted themselves into the conversation with speed (of chug, not foot). But Mayfield’s style points were off the charts — Rodgers is sure to be salty.
Mayfield seemed to win over folks on Twitter with the silly display. The quarterback’s appearance on the Jumbotron may have also inspired the Indians, who ripped off five runs after the chug, and won 7-2.
Mayfield can keep earning Cleveland’s love during the football season this year.
