Baker Mayfield calls out Colin Cowherd over Odell Beckham Jr. take

Fox Sports commentator Colin Cowherd railed on the resurgent Cleveland Browns during his show on Friday, leading Browns QB Baker Mayfield to fire back at his old media nemesis on Twitter.

Browns fans are unsurprisingly hyped for the upcoming season, and Cleveland has made several significant upgrades in the offseason to improve a roster that went from zero wins in 2017 to 7-8-1 last year. Most notably, the Browns pulled off a trade for superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who should form a dynamic partnership with Mayfield this fall.

According to Cowherd, however, the Browns could easily devolve into a “dumpster fire.” Citing anonymous sources, Cowherd argued that Beckham is clearly unhappy to be a Brown, and preferred to land in Los Angeles.

“Nobody will just say the truth. Odell Beckham’s not happy. He’s not happy. Look at him! Does he look happy?

…. This thing has a chance to be an absolute mess. Freddie Kitchens, with these egos and these stars? I can tell you I have this as well sourced as I can have it on Odell Beckham. He didn’t want to go to Cleveland! He wanted to go to LA…. Now, he’ll make it work, but this was not his choice.”

Mayfield responded to Cowherd on Twitter, telling him to visit Cleveland to see how Beckham Jr. feels about the trade.

Mayfield visited Cowherd’s show last June to defend himself from constant criticism, including Cowherd’s take that footage of a touchdown celebration was evidence that Mayfield was a “bad teammate.”

Advantage: Baker.
