Baker Mayfield had a message for the growing base of critics taking shots at the Browns’ struggling QB.
I. Don’t. Care.
Mayfield’s press conference on Wednesday featured several questions about his mindset, his self-doubt and the criticism coming at him from all directions. There were a couple of football-related questions too, but they were just brief distractions from the barrage of questions about Mayfield and his detractors.
There were several iterations of answers from the embattled quarterback, but this answer from Mayfield best surmises the tone.
“I do not give a damn what they say,” Mayfield said calmly. “It is within this building. We know we can do better. I know I can do better. That is how it is going to be handled. The outside noise does not matter. They get paid to talk. We get paid to do our work. That is how it is going to be handled.”
There were other answers too, but that was the consistent point. Hopefully his next press conference will be more about football.
