Bake Off winner Frances Quinn 'banned from Waitrose after being accused of shoplifting eggs'

Great British Bake Off winner Frances Quinn has been banned from Waitrose after she was accused of shoplifting eggs and flour, it has been claimed.

Staff suspected Frances, 38, of not paying for her shopping, which included flour and eggs, and the police were called, The Sun reports.

She was interviewed by officers and was reportedly banned from the store in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, after agreeing to hand the items back.

Leicestershire Police confirmed a 38-year-old woman from that area has been banned from entering the branch over claims of shoplifting.

They said it was resolved with a community resolution, which does not leave the offender with a formal police record.

But this means the offender must admit the offence and the victim should be happy with the resolution.

A spokesperson said: “A woman had entered the shop and was detained when she tried to leave without paying for goods.

"She admitted her involvement to officers and the matter was dealt with by way of a community resolution."
