Bake Off viewers 'in bits' as they cheer over sweet moment at end of week two

Great British Bake Off fans breathed a sigh of relief and cheered over a sweet moment at end of week two.

It was biscuit week in the tent and judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith had three more difficult challenges for the bakers to tackle.

But it wasn't plain sailing for all 11 remaining contestants on Tuesday night - from chewy brandy snaps to collapsing showstoppers.

The group were expected to produce their own version of brandy snaps in the signature challenge, create a perfect jam and cream biscuit in the technical and create an interactive biscuit showstopper.

And it was Jurgen who once again emerged victorious as he was awarded star baker for a second week in a row after creating.

But sadly Jairzeno crumbled and became the latest baker to leave the famous tent.

Fans, however, were holding the breath when it came to a classic moment on the show.

The star bakers are usually filmed phoning their loved ones to tell them the good news but last week, in a show first, Jurgen's calls were left unanswered.

So this week, everyone had their fingers crossed.

And they were completely relieved when he did get a response to his call.
