Bake Off's Paul Hollywood asks baker about their 'furry garden' in filthy gaffe

The Great British Bake Off's first episode was filled with cheeky innuendos - with the filthiest coming from Paul Hollywood.

The silver-haired judge got a nit muddled up and thought he was going to taste one contestant's "furry garden".

There were a few red faces when Spanish hopeful Helena Garcia started discussing her Showstopper bake.

The 40-year-old Online Project Manager said: "It's a fairy garden. I had a fairy garden as a child. I've got one now."

But Paul clearly struggled to understand her accent as he asked: "You've got a...what sorry?"

As she tried to explain once more, Helena asked: "Is it my accent?"

A massive grin came across Paul's face as he realised he had made a filthy innuendo.

When Prue Leith asked what he thought they were talking about, Paul claimed he thought it was "fur".

Embarrassed Helena, who got the giggles, said: "Oh Paul, I know what you're thinking."

Paul went on to ask Helena "how big" her fairy garden was in another hilarious moment.

Prue insisted it was more like a "fairy mountain", which left presenter Noel Fielding laughing and Paul cringing at the side.

Giggling Bake Off viewers took to Twitter after hearing the filthy innuendo.

One viewer said: "Less than an hour into Bake off and we're talking about furry gardens ... Good to see Channel 4's innuendo filter is switched off again this year"

"Oh my god, Paul! You can't just ask people how big their furry garden is," added another.

A third joked: "I'd rather have a furry garden than a soggy bottom."

*The Great British Bake Off airs Tuesdays on Channel 4 at 9pm
