Bake Off fans are terrified as they all say the same thing about bread week

Fans of The Great British Bake Off could have sworn that Halloween came early while watching tonight's episode.

Bread Week saw some eye-catching creations brought to the table including a 'brioche-like' red octopus, a Sunday roast and a five-a-day veg platter all made of bread.

But it was Jürgen’s 'The Baby' milk bread showstopper that had viewers hiding behind the sofa.

The bread baby (Channel Four)

"Milk bread baby isn’t real. Milk bread baby can’t hurt me," reassured one fan of the Channel Four show.

"That bread baby is terrifying!" exclaimed another.

"I love Jurgen but that bread baby is terrifying," another commented.

"That bread baby might be the creepiest thing I've seen in a while," said a fourth.

And another wrote: "Jurgen’s Bread Baby is genuinely terrifying."

Fans were shaken again when judge Paul Hollywood sliced its leg off.

"There was no way to slice the baby bread that wouldn’t make us all wince," said one viewer.

"That is so horrible. Cutting the leg off a bread baby. This is madness." pleaded another.

"Paul just matter of factly cutting that baby’s leg off is the icing on the milk bread!" another commented.

'Breadfather' Paul gave out his first 'Hollywood handshake' of Bake Off 2021.

Giuseppe was moved to tears after becoming the lucky recipient of thr elite handshake, and he rose to the top to be crowned Star Baker of this week.

The signature challenge in Bread Week saw the contestants asked to make their version of the Italian bread focaccia.

Giuseppe decided to channel the flavours of his Italian home town and Paul was so impressed he asked for the recipe.

The theme had fans craving bread with one asking: "How do I have no bread at all in the house right now?!"

This week viewers saw Rochica eliminated from the Channel Four competiton.
