Baillie Gifford fund adds former PwC partner and ex-McKinsey consultant to board

Edinburgh Worldwide Investment Trust has appointed former PwC partner Caroline Roxburgh and McKinsey alumnus Jonathan Simpson-Dent as non-executive directors. The pair will join the board of the Baillie Gifford managed company from the start of February.

Chartered accountant Roxburgh was a partner at PwC until 2016 and has more than 30 years' experience advising boards in a range of industry sectors. She is a University of Strathclyde economics graduate who is on the board of VisitScotland, the Edinburgh International festival and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She is also a non-executive director of Montanaro European Smaller Companies Trust.

University of Cambridge graduate Simpson-Dent qualified as an accountant with PwC before joining McKinsey & Co. He became CFO of Pepsi UK before leading private equity and listed mid-cap businesses in various industry sectors and is currently chair of social housing provider Bromford.

Edinburgh Worldwide targets investments in early stage entrepreneurial businesses valued below $5 billion but with high growth potential.
