Bailey Rice's Rangers future may still be up in the air as his contract winds down.
But the midfielder clearly hopes to have an opportunity to fight for a first-team spot next season if his training regime this weekend is anything to go by.
The 19-year-old's deal at Ibrox comes to an end later this month and he has a handful of potential suitors keeping a close eye on his progress as he has to now plan for what might be next.
Rice managed just one appearance in all competitions for Danny Rohl's side last season as they fought for the title before collapsing just after the split. But their efforts forced the head coach to continue to rely on experience over youth.
That seemingly has not stopped Rice from hoping he may stay beyond this summer at Rangers, the club where he climbed through the ranks, and footage was shared of his pre-season workout efforts.
Rice has been training in Marbella, Spain, with NXT Level Lab and has been put through his paces to keep fit over the summer.
The Instagram account linked with the coaching even dropped a hint that Rice is expecting to have pre-season back at Rangers as he weighs up his next steps.
NXT Level claimed they’d been helping Rice to “prepare for pre-season at Rangers FC.”
Rice commented on the post with a handshake emoji which read: “After a season disrupted by injury, Bailey put the work in to finish the campaign fully fit.
“Working closely with the club’s head physio, we’ve made sure every box has been ticked throughout his return-to-play process.
“Now it’s about building capacity, maintaining momentum, and preparing for pre-season @rangersfc. Big year ahead mate".
Rice has had clubs interested in his services in recent seasons including the likes of Ajax and Aston Villa.
