
A MAN accused of sexually touching a teenage girl will face a Hunter court on Wednesday.
Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad officers arrested the 42-year-old near Cessnock on Tuesday as part of an investigation that began in November.
Detectives had been following up on allegations a 14-year-old girl was sexually touched by a man known to her.
The man was taken to Cessnock police station.
He has been charged with two counts of intentionally sexually touch a child aged between 10 and 16.
"Police will allege in court that the man sexually touched the girl at a home in the state's Hunter Region between August and September last year," NSW Police said in a statement.
The man faced Cessnock Local Court on Tuesday. He was formally refused bail to re-appear on Wednesday.
