Bail following home invasion that came before woman's death

A woman has been released on bail over a break-in at Anna Bay, after which a resident suffered a medical episode and died.

Catherine Ann Howard, 47, faced Raymond Terrace Local Court on Wednesday charged with break and enter committing a serious indictable offence.

Ms Howard is accused of "intimidation in circumstances of aggravation", according to court documents.

She allegedly went to a Main Road home late on Tuesday night and spoke with two women who lived there - a 59-year-old and a 37-year-old. Police say the women knew each other.

Police allege Ms Howard returned about an hour later and broke into the home through a window before the younger woman escorted her out the front door.

The 59-year-old resident suffered a medical episode soon after and died after paramedics took her to John Hunter Hospital.

Ms Howard has not been charged in relation to the woman's death.

She was granted bail in court on Wednesday, where the matter was adjourned to November 23.
