A man accused of using Instagram to make a death threat against Brittany Higgins and her fiance has had his bail continued.

David William Wonnocott made a brief appearance in Tweed Heads Local Court today.

The Banora Point man faced charges of using a carriage service to threaten to kill, and in a way that a reasonable person would regard as being menacing, harassing or offensive.

The 49-year-old was arrested by Terrorism Investigation Squad detectives at Tweed Heads in April.

It is alleged he sent a message to Ms Higgins' partner, David Sharaz, threatening to kill the couple and their pet dog.

The second charge relates to alleged threats made over social media to people who attended a mass gathering.

Magistrate Geoffrey Dunlevy today continued bail, with the condition that Mr Wonnocott not approach or contact Ms Higgins or Mr Sharaz or go within 100 kilometres of the Sydney CBD.

Curfew confusion

There was some confusion about a curfew requiring the accused man to be at his home in Banora Point between the hours of 4:30pm and 11:30pm.

The magistrate eventually told the court that the curfew had only been imposed for February 25 this year — the day of the Mardi Gras parade in Sydney.

The accused man was peppered with questions by the media as he left court.

He replied with "no comment" until asked about what his plans were for the future.

"Behave," he replied.

The case has been adjourned until July.
