Bahraini Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa described Saudi Arabia as a security and stability force for all the region, stressing that the whole area depends on the Kingdom, which plays its role to the fullest.
“Saudi Arabia is a major power for the GCC states and for the Arab and Islamic nations as it is the backbone of the policies in the region and the Middle East,” Prince Khalifa said, adding that it is now at its strongest positions under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Prince Khalifa was speaking in a meeting with Saudi media figures, who were guests of honor in Khalifa bin Salman Press Award distribution ceremony in Manama on Wednesday.
The Bahraini Premier stressed that Saudi’s power resembles a strength in the neighborly and brotherly countries and security and stability in the region. He added that it has become a global heavyweight.
In this context, Information Minister Ali al-Rumaihi said during his speech at the ceremony that targeting security in Saudi Arabia threatens the security and stability of the whole region.
The Prime Minister handed over prizes to the winners in different categories (article, news, investigative report and press photo).
He hailed choosing the Saudi press to be the guest of honor at his press award distribution ceremony, which, he said, epitomizes deep-rooted fraternal relations between both countries and peoples.
The Premier praised the high professionalism and commitment of the Saudi press to the criteria and ethics of the profession, pointing out richness of the GCC scene in press and media competencies.
He commended the role of the Saudi press in defending Arab and Islamic issues, paying tribute to the GCC competencies in the journalistic field.
Journalists in Bahrain have a high status and are highly appreciated for their devotion and loyalty to their country, Prince Khalifa noted.
“Honoring the creative journalists and writers, is an expression of our appreciation for their renewed contribution to the service of the nation and pride in their excellence and commitment to the noble mission of the press profession and its role in enlightening the society,” explained the premier.
