Bahlul Mustafazada opens door for Celtic as defender comments on Hoops interest

Gabala stopper Bahlul Mustafazada has opened the door for Celtic to make a move.

The Azerbaijan Under 21s defender is out of contract with Gabala in the summer and has been invited for a trial in Glasgow.

And he admits he would jump at a move to Parkhead after being spotted by Hoops scouts.

Mustafazada, who has Europa League experience with his club, admits it would be a dream come true to win a move to the Scottish champions.

He said: "Of course I would want to play for a club like Celtic.

Bahlul Mustafazada invited for Celtic trial as Hoops set to run rule over Gabala defender

"If a contract proposal happened then I would certainly jump at it.

"'I'm out of contract at the end of the season, but at the moment I am fighting to try and ensure Gabala get into Europe."

Dedryck Boyata goes down with an injury (SNS Group)

Celtic are set to lose Dedryck Boyata to Hertha Berlin, while Filip Benkovic will return to Leicester City, leaving them light in central defence.

Mustafazada has been capped ten times for Azerbaijan Under 21s and has been called up for the full squad too.

He is a product of his club's Youth Academy and was also loaned to local club Sumgayit last year.
