The Daily Mail's war on plastic bags has come under attack. The Mail campaign, which has repeatedly warned of the "plastic disaster threatening British seas" has prompted supermarkets and retailers to cut back on the number of plastic bags offered to consumers. But today it was revealed that the Mail's parent company owns the High Speed Bagging Company, which wraps the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday in polythene bags for weekend promotions. Newsagent Steve Denham, of West Chiltington, West Sussex, accused the Mail of "eco hypocrisy", the Daily Express very gleefully reports.
