Baghdad's crumbling heritage: Buildings in Iraqi capital under threat

After decades of conflict, terrorism and government mismanagement, Baghdad's monumental buildings are increasingly dilapidated and under threat. Many fear that without laws and protection, they could gradually perish, taking much of Iraq's cultural heritage with them. Our correspondents Jack Hewson and Lucile Wassermann report.

Meanwhile, a tragic stampede in the northeast of Israel has left 44 people dead. Dozens were also injured at the religious ceremony in Mount Meron. Some have blamed the country's security forces, with others pointing the finger at Ultra-Orthodox politicians for pushing to lift attendance restrictions. For more on this incident and to get a glimpse into a closed community, we speak to Tirtza Bloch, a social activist and feminist.

Finally, in Iran, the country's foreign minister has come under fire from the supreme leader after he was heard criticising the Revolutionary Guards in a leaked recording. Meanwhile, Mohammad Javad Zarif has been pitched as a potential leading presidential candidate by Iran's Reformist coalition.
