Bagatelle lead singer Liam Reilly has died suddenly aged 65

Liam Reilly, the lead singer of Irish band Bagatelle, passed away on New Year's Day.

The singer and songwriter's family confirmed in a statement on Saturday morning that the musician had passed away suddenly but peacefully.

In a statement the family said: "With sad hearts, the family of Liam Reilly, musician, songwriter and frontman of Bagatelle, wish to confirm that he passed away suddenly but peacefully at his home on January 1st 2021."

The Louth man fronted the Bagatelles for over 40 years who were best known for hits Summer in Dublin and Trump Card.

The family have asked for privacy at this time after Liam's sad passing.
