BAFTA: Prince William and Kate's reaction to Brad Pitt's Prince Harry joke

Prince William and Kate were left "awkwardly" laughing at the BAFTA award ceremony after Brad Pitt joked about Prince Harry during his acceptance speech.

The 56-year-old actor was unable to attend the event in London in person to pick up his award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.

Luckily co-star Margot Robbie was on hand to read his speech which included references to both Brexit and Megxit, Manchester Evening News reports.

On stage, Margot said: "He starts by saying, 'Hey Britain, I heard you just became single. Welcome to the club.'

"Wishing you the best with the divorce settlement, blah blah blah," she added, prompting laughter from the star-studded audience.

Margot then reeled off a list of names of cast members, crew, and director Quentin Tarantino.

"He goes on by thanking you again blah blah blah, it's a bit much really," she said.

"Oh and he also says he's going to name this Harry [gestures to award] 'cause he is really excited about bringing it back to the States with him."

As laughter flooded the auditorium, Margot added: "His words not mine!"

The camera then cut to Prince William and Kate in the crowd, who were seen laughing together.

Some viewers were left cringing by the joke, with one person commenting on Twitter: "How very awkward."

Another said: "Most cringey laugh Kate and William ever made lol"
