BAFTA host Alison Hammond's net worth, incredible weight loss, love life, and Birmingham home

Alison Hammond is hosting the 2023 BAFTAs alongside Hollywood star Richard E Grant. The TV personality has become a national treasure for her fun-loving and bubbly personality.

The 48-year-old has made a name for herself as a host for This Morning and will present Bafta Studio - an immersive and access-all-areas experience, as part of the BBC One show, which will see her rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous at Sunday's awards show.

Alison stunned viewers at home in a stunning black sparkly floor-length gown, and promised fans she's going to bring "good vibes only" to tonight's proceedings, writes the Mirror. Let's take a look into Alison's life as she's become one of the nations beloved TV personalities..

Alison's net worth

Alison is reportedly worth between £1-£4million thanks to her impressive TV career that came after her appearance on Big Brother in 2002. It was after her stint on the iconic reality show that she landed her highest-paying gig to date on This Morning, which she hosts every Friday with Dermot O'Leary.

She reportedly earns around £600,000 a year for her work on This Morning. The 48-year-old has also appeared on reality shows like I'm A Celebrity in 2010 and Strictly Come Dancing in 2014.

Incredible weight loss

Fans have noticed Alison has embarked on an impressive weight-loss journey in recent years and even joined Weight Watchers as an ambassador in April 2019. The TV personality enjoys spending time in the gym lifting weights and working with her personal trainer, as well as focusing on healthy eating too.

While Alison enjoys dishes of chicken and spinach or beef mince and cauliflower rice, she will still allow herself to have cheat days and enjoy everything in moderation. Opening up about her own weight struggles on This Morning, Alison broke down in tears during a segment last year.

She said: "Can I just say something? Obviously I've had - I'm getting upset - I've had obesity my whole life. And what it is, is your regulation system is out of whack. So obviously, you can't control wanting to eat all the time. And I think what a lot of people don't realise, is obesity is a disease. You can't help wanting to eat all the time."

She was comforted by Dermot and Deirdre as she broke down in tears. She added: "Sorry, I get - sorry. Because I think people look down at people just because they're so big and they can't actually help it if they've got a disease. When you're in it, it's difficult. You want to eat and you want all the bad things and you know you don't look right. Sorry, it touched me."

Love life

Alison was previously married to Manchester cab driver Noureddine Boufaied, whom she shares her son Aiden with. The couple eventually divorced, but Alison found love again with single dad and security guard Jamie Savage, who she met online. They quickly got engaged but three years later announced their split.

She was then briefly involved with audio technician Ben Kusi, who she met on Celebs Go Dating earlier in 2020. And now she has a mystery man in her life who she has been dating for 18 months.

"A year and a half I've been with him, and no one knew! He loves me to bits. He absolutely worships me and massages my feet every single day. What more do you want?!" she told The Sun.

Inside Birmingham home

Despite working in London, Alison lives in a lavish home in Birmingham alongside her son Aiden, her gay best friend Jason, and his pet dog Bobby.

"My family life is so like, if you look at it from the outside you’ll be like ‘how does that all work?’" she previously said. "Jason’s there helping me with Aiden, Aiden is there helping Jason, the dog, helping me. It is just such a good little unit and I absolutely love my home life situation I cook for my boys and home life I am winning!"

Alison loves Birmingham and has previously said that she would never leave the city. "I like doing dead ordinary things when I’m away from work – I just dropped my son off at the Snowdome and that’s more important and more fun than all the partying under the sun," she once told Birmingham Living.

“This is who I am. I am a private person in real life but very outward going when I have an audience. I love Birmingham. I love everything about it. I would never leave it."
