BAFTA awards 2019: Stars dazzle at glitzy Savoy Hotel gala

A glamorous ensemble of stars descended on the Savoy Hotel for the BAFTA Film Gala on Friday night.

The glitzy event attracted a host of A-listers as they gathered ahead of Sunday’s film awards at the Royal Albert Hall.

Actor Eddie Redmayne looked sharp in a purple velvet jacket paired with a white shirt and black trousers, as he and wife Hannah Bagshawe posed for the cameras as some of the first to arrive.

Presenters Vernon Kay and Tess Daly also appeared at the event, with her in a brightly coloured dress and he in a clean cut dark suit.

A dapper Tom Hiddlestone also appeared as he posed with his long hair pushed back wearing a deep navy two piece.

Joanna Lumley was in attendance as she is set to host Sunday’s ceremony which will be at the Royal Albert Hall for the third year running.

Other notable guests were Patrick Stewart, Noel Clarke and Andy Serkis.

Margot Robbie, Olivia Colman, Bradley Cooper, Glenn Close and Claire Foy are among the stars who will attend the film Baftas on Sunday, organisers have announced.

Other nominees attending the awards on Sunday include Christian Bale, Viola Davis, Timothee Chalamet and Rachel Weisz.

While Bodyguard star Richard Madden is among the presenters and other attendees as well as Cate Blanchett, Gary Oldman and Lily Collins.

However, nominee Lady Gaga is set to perform at the Grammys on Sunday, meaning she will not be at the film awards in London.
