A short clip of Rachel Weisz and Olivia Colman saying “gay rights” on the BAFTA red carpet has gone viral.
The two British actors, who won awards on the night for their respective roles in The Favourite, were asked to say the phrase into the camera by a fan who goes by the Twitter handle @lgbtdisney.
Both obliged to the delight of the fan, resulting in a viral video that has now been watched more than 339,000 times on the platform.
While Colman, 45, said “yes” immediately to the request, another clip posted by the fan reveals Weisz initially said “no” before she realised it was for a video.
People were quick to share the clips of the two famous actors, which the fan posted separately before uploading a mash-up of the two.
Between them, they have garnered more than 4,000 retweets and 19,000 likes.
“This has added 20 years to my lifespan,” responded one person.
Another teased that they’d listened to the clips on repeat for five minutes while someone else described Colman as a “gift to this world”.
