Joleon Lescott questioned the "baffling" approach of Marcelo Bielsa in Leeds United's 7-0 hammering at Manchester City.
Lescott couldn't understand why the Leeds boss didn't alter the plan after City raced into an early lead.
"I just find it baffling that Bielsa gets so much credit for being this unique tactician but yet he hasn’t been able to see that what he was doing in the first-half, how they were playing, wasn’t going to be any different in the second-half. It doesn’t surprise me after seeing the first-half that they conceded seven goals."
Owen Hargreaves was also on punditry duty and he questioned the fact that Bielsa didn't choose to tighten things up in the second half, instead continuing to attack and leaving his side open defensively.
"They kept trying to play, kept trying to score. He plays his way, that’s his way of playing and I think that’s his biggest loss ever."
Lescott then went on to say that the win could have a damaging effect on the rest of Leeds ' season:
"The second half was the disappointing thing. I’m looking at it, change something, give your players a chance to put up a fight for morale purposes.
"You lose 3-0 to Man City you’re disappointed but if you lose 7-0 then training is hard, motivation in the next game can be hard as well."
Bielsa will need to find a way to pick his side up quickly as Arsenal and Liverpool are next on the fixture list before two huge games against Aston Villa and Burnley where the Whites will be desperate to add some points on the board again.
