Baffled ITV Emmerdale viewers point out major blunder as police question Jamie Tate

Emmerdale fans were left confused by an apparent police blunder after Andrea Tate went missing.

Publicly outing their affair to residents in the Woolpack pub, Jamie was left furious that she could be so cruel.

But Andrea was left distraught by Jamie's reaction and fled the village with their daughter Millie.

However, she didn't take her car or take any money with her.

Worried for their safety, Jamie rang the police for help.

But despite Andrea being missing for less than 24 hours, the police declared her a "high risk missing person" - causing a stir on Twitter.

According to the College of Policing, a high risk missing person is one who is of "serious harm to the subject or the public".

Viewers believed Andrea was none of these things.

Andy tweeted: "Andrea is a high risk missing person based on no information. Nice work, Hotten Police."

Grianne said: "'We're classing this as a high risk missing person'. Really?

"Andrea hasn't even been gone 24 hours yet. Also she obviously left her stuff behind on purpose to worry Jamie even more right?"

Mark said: "High risk missing persons case? Why??"

And another viewer wrote: "High risk missing person case. Oh f*** off. Get the storylines straight."
