Baffled American tourist mistakes tablet sweetie for soap at Skye hotel with hilarious results

A baffled American tourist left a Skye hotel a bad review after using tablet left on their pillow as soap.

Thomas, from the United States, accidentally went viral after making the hilarious blunder while staying at The Pink Guest House in Portree over the weekend.

The hotel had left the sweet treat on their beds, but the American family mistook the food offering as bars of soap.

They were then left disappointed by the 'oily residue' and 'gritty' texture the iconic Scottish sweet left in the shower.

Thomas told the hotel: "You have got to do something with that brown tablet bar of soap that you put on each of our beds.

"Not only was it gritty and left an oily residue but it disintegrated before the shower was done.

"I have had much better exfoliating bar scrubs."

But he wasn't completely disappointed as he complimented other aspects of the facility.

Thomas added: "Location and view were superb.

"Very clean and had everything we needed."

The post went viral after twitter users spotted the hilarious review and shared it with social media.

Raking in more than 20 thousand likes one person said: "God bless Americans. Skye this weekend."

One person replied: "Oh my god, that is priceless.

"Please tell me you contacted them to tell them is was a sweetie?

Another joked: "I do NOT want to know what Thomas does with toblerone."

While another fumed: "what a waste of tablet!!!!"
