Bad parking forced firefighters to run to house blaze

Firefighters had to jump from their engine and run to a house fire after the road was blocked by 'badly-parked vehicles'.

Crews were called to Clough Avenue in Wilmslow just before midday on Wednesday.

When they arrived, they found they couldn't get their engine down the street because of the way other vehicles had been parked.

Instead, firefighters had to run 70m with their hoses to the scene.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire had been caused by someone leaving food unattended while cooking.

Luckily it was contained to the pan, which was carried outside by firefighters and put out.

A large fan was then used to get rid of the smoke from the house.

One person was given medical attention by crews before paramedics took over.

Wilmslow Fire Station later tweeted about the incident, warning people to 'Think Before You Park'

They said: "Charlie Watch were unable to reach the scene of a house fire this morning due to badly-parked vehicles.

"Firefighters had to dismount and run 70m with hoses to the property.

"Luckily the fire was contained to a cooking pan."
