Bad Girls Club star Demitra 'Mimi' Roche, nicknamed 'Miami Maverick', dies aged 34

Bad Girls Club star Demitra “Mimi” Roche, nicknamed the “Miami Maverick“, has died, aged 34

The news was announced by Vince Valholla, a record producer who employed Roche as vice president of A&R at Valholla Entertainment in 2011.

“I’m at a loss for words,” Valholla wrote on Facebook. “Don’t know what to say. Mimi (@demitrajade) was kind to everyone she came across. She was big dreamer and was a part of our Valholla family. I’m heartbroken by the news of her passing.

“I’m thankful I got to know, and work with her. My thoughts are with her family, loved ones, and friends. God gained another angel.”

In a follow-up tweet, he said her death came “out [of] the blue”.

Bad Girls Club, which was originally shown on Oxygen in the US, is a reality series following seven women’s confrontations with one another while living in a mansion for four months. In the UK, it is shown on subscription service Hayu.

Roche appeared on the show’s eighth season, which was broadcast in 2012.

There have been four spin-offs of the series, which aired up until 2016, when the reality show was put on limbo by bosses at Oxygen.

Frances Berwick, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment Lifestyle Networks’ president, said of its future: ”Bad Girls Club, at this stage, I don’t see it on Oxygen linear.”
