ICYMI, last week rapper and singer Bad Bunny was announced as the headliner for the 2026 Super Bowl LX Halftime Show.
The announcement angered many on the right as the Puerto Rican musician promised to do the entire show in Spanish, an idea disliked by many conservative commentators. Well, this weekend, Bad Bunny clapped back, using the Saturday Night Live (SNL) stage to mock the backlash.

As the host of the season 51 premiere, Bad Bunny talked about his excitement for the upcoming halftime show in his monologue, saying “I think everyone is very happy about it — even Fox News”.
The show then rolled a compilation of Fox News anchors, cut together to say: “Bad Bunny. Is. My favorite. Musician. And he should be the next. President”.
The controversy around his Halftime performance comes from his decision to do the show entirely in Spanish. This spurred former Trump adviser Corey Lewandowski to suggest U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will be present at the game.
Speaking to Conservative Podcaster Benny Johnson, Lewandowski said: “There is nowhere you can provide safe haven to people who are in this country illegally. Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else”.
Johnson went further, taking to instagram and labelling Bad Bunny as “a massive Trump hater” and an “anti-Ice Activist”.
Bad Bunny has been critical of US President Donald Trump and has skipped the US on his 2025 world tour from fear that ICE agents may conduct raids at his concerts.

Clearly aware of the controversy, Bad Bunny continued his monologue by saying he knew fans would be happy, before switching to Spanish and sending a message to the Latinx people “who have achieved everything, demonstrating that our way, our carrying of this country, no one can ever remove nor erase”.
He closed out his monologue with a cheeky message to non-Spanish speakers, dipping back into English to say: “If you didn’t understand that, you’ve got four months to learn”.
Better get your Duolingo out everyone, because the Super Bowl countdown has started.
