Backroom figure joins Nottingham Forest from League One side amid summer reshuffle

It will be a summer of changes on and off the pitch at Nottingham Forest, as the club target a promotion push when the new season begins.

Boss Chris Hughton is looking to put his stamp on the dressing room and overhaul his squad after a disappointing campaign last time out, with incomings and outgoings expected.

And a new-look set-up is being put in place behind the scenes, too.

The latest change on that front is the arrival of physio Luis Pinho from Sheffield Wednesday.

The Portuguese has been with the Owls for almost two years, since October 2019, but has confirmed the move to the City Ground on his LinkedIn account.

The Sheffield Star say Wednesday have been advertising for a first-team physiotherapist for the past month, seemingly in anticipation of Pinho’s departure.

He is unlikely to be the only new face among the backroom staff this summer, amid something of a reshuffle Trentside.

Chris Brass has already been at the club for some time. Previously head of football operations at Wigan Athletic, he has been added to the recruitment structure, while his role also involves working to achieve greater integration across the club, specifically between the academy and the senior squad.

George Syrianos, who has been head of analytics at Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart, is taking up a data and analytics role.

And Forest are believed to be interested in Dane Murphy, from Barnsley, for the position of CEO.

Any update on that is unlikely to come before the start of the new month, with The Athletic having reported his current contract - in line with general practice in football - expires at the end of June.
