A Paisley primary school headteacher has been subjected to vile “homophopbia and hate” after inviting a drag queen into the classroom to talk kids.
Shell-shocked Michelle Watson took to social media to highlight the “truly awful” abuse aimed at her and her staff working at Ferguslie Park’s Glencoats Primary School.

The school had welcomed a drag artist, Flow, along with MP Mhairi Black for a Q&A as part of LGBT History Month.
However, it was revealed afterwards that the performer has a sexually explicit online profile, which led to a angry online backlash.
In a tweet, which has since been deleted, Miss Watson, wrote: “The negativity, trolling, personal comments, homophobia and hate that has come my way and to those I work with has been truly awful.

“This exactly why we should educate our children to be accepting of all people. Everyone deserves love.”
Ms Black added: “I am so grateful to have been invited to the school to answer questions from students, who I must say were much kinder, compassionate and informed than many of the adults commenting online.”
Education bosses last night said they would not have allowed the visit had they been aware of the drag artist’s x-rated content.

A spokesman said: “It is clear in this case, the social media content associated with the speaker’s stage persona is not appropriate for children and had we been aware of this, the visit would not have been arranged.”
