People look at the Peace Statue, which was repainted to restore its original blue color, in the Peace Park in Nagasaki on Wednesday. The 9.7-meter-high bronze statue was created by sculptor Seibo Kitamura in August 1955 and last repainted about 20 years ago. Renovation work is expected to be completed at the end of this month.
