
A train car runs near a coastal levee in Miyako, Iwate Prefecture, on Monday morning during a test run of the JR Yamada Line. The line has been suspended between Miyako and Kamaishi in the prefecture since the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011.
The suspended 55.4-kilometer stretch will be transferred to Sanriku Railway Co. after JR East completes restoration work. Service is scheduled to resume on March 23.
