'Back on the bike' Nottingham Forest man provides big injury update

Nottingham Forest full-back Tendayi Darikwa has confirmed that he is back in the gym ahead of his long road back to full fitness.

The right back suffered a devastating knee injury when he ruptured his ACL back in July, an injury which is sure to keep him out of action well into the new year.

Last month, Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi revealed the 27-year-old had gone under the knife for the injury, with his prognosis for a return set at about six months.

But Darikwa has taken to social media to show that he is already back on the bike, literally, with the defender back in the gym and back working out.

The video shows the Zimbabwe international, in good spirits, carrying out a workout with the caption: "7 weeks in.. first time back on the bike ."

He has previously said, via social media: “Sad to be out of action for a while. Will be supporting the boys week in, week out. Thank you for the messages. COYR”

Darikwa made 31 appearances in the Garibaldi last term, but was used sparingly in pre-season after being away with Zimbabwe in the Africa Cup of Nations earlier in the summer.
