'Back Arteta Kroenke Out' plane banner flown over Aston Villa vs Arsenal game

Arsenal’s match with Aston Villa on Tuesday night was disrupted when a plane carrying the message “Back Arteta, Kroenke Out” flew over the stadium.

The plane flew over the ground shortly after kick-off at Villa Park and circled nearby for around five minutes or so.

It was carrying the message: “Back Arteta, Kroenke Out” and the protest comes ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

Fans are keen for Arteta to be backed heavily by owner Stan Kroenke in the transfer market as he looks to rebuild Arsenal.

The Gunners, however, have been hit hard financially by the outbreak of coronavirus and their summer budget is likely to be impacted.

After a slow start to football’s return last month, Arsenal have been in good form recently under Arteta.

They defeated Liverpool last Wednesday and followed that up by reaching the FA Cup Final by beating Manchester City 2-0 at Wembley on Saturday.
