Bachelorette star Hannah Brown apologises for using N-word on Instagram Live

The Bachelorette star Hannah Brown has apologised after sharing a video of herself rapping the N-word.

Brown, who was the titular “Bachelorette” on the show’s 15th season, appeared on Instagram Live on Saturday (16 May) with her friends, broadcasting as she rapped along to DaBaby’s song “Rockstar”, that included the word.

In a subsequent video that is no longer available, the reality TV star said that she was “so sorry” for singing the lyric, but reportedly attempted to pass the blame onto her brother after seemingly being encouraged to do so by someone off-camera.

However, Brown returned to Instagram to offer up a more sincere apology on Sunday night, writing on her Stories: “I owe you all a major apology. There is no excuse, and I will not justify what I said.”

She continued: “I have read your messages and seen the hurt that I have caused. I own it all. I am terribly sorry and know that whether in public or private, this language is unacceptable. I promise to do better.”

Prior to her time on The Bachelorette, the former Miss Alabama appeared on season 23 of The Bachelor.

Brown also went on to compete on Dancing With The Stars in 2019 and won the competition with partner Alan Bersten.
