A disturbing report just in from the Federation of Small Businesses in conjunction with Enterprise Rent-A-Car says that two thirds of small to medium enterprises don't chck that employee-owned cars used for business are correctly insured and maintained.
The point the report raises is that no matter who owns these cars, if your employee is using it for your business then you're liable for the bill if there's a fine to pay when they're caught driving when they shouldn't be.
42 per cent of small business employers who allowed their employees to use their own cars didn't even check to see whether they had a valid driving license at the time.
