A baby who died at a Bristol hospital last month has been named.

Police opened a murder investigation after Lexi Savannah Wilband's death at Bristol Children's Hospital on April 18, Gloucestershire Live reports.

An inquest into her death has now been opened and adjourned by the coroner in Gloucestershire.

She was treated there for five days before her death on April 18.

A spokesman for the Gloucestershire Coroner’s Service said the baby was taken to hospital "due to being significantly unwell".

The inquest was adjourned to a date to be fixed.

A police murder investigation into the death is continuing.

Gloucestershire police revealed on April 22 that two people, who have not been named or their relationship to Lexi revealed, had been arrested.

A day later, the police revealed they had been released under investigation with bail conditions while inquiries continue, and must report back to a police station on May 20.
