A BABY has been taken to hospital and a man arrested after armed police sealed off a street in the capital.
Firearms and specialist officers were called to a report of a disturbance at a property on St Leonard’s Street in Edinburgh at around 9am on Saturday.
Homes were evacuated "as a precaution" as emergency services responded, with a 46-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident.
A 38-year-old woman and a baby were taken to hospital as a precaution, police said.
St Leonard’s Street was closed at the junction of St Leonard’s Place and Lutton Place.
Police said enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9am on Saturday, June 21, 2025, we were called to a report of a disturbance at a property on St Leonard’s Street, Edinburgh.
“Specialist officers, including firearms officers, attended and a 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with causing a disturbance.
“A 38-year-old woman and a baby were taken to hospital as a precaution.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
