Baby snatched from hospital in United States ‘found after 55 years’

A man who was abducted as a newborn baby 55 years ago from a Chicago hospital has reportedly been found living under a different name in rural Michigan.

He is said to have been identified as Paul Fronczak, pictured above soon after his birth.

He was the child of Chester and Dora Fronczak and was snatched from his mother’s arms by a woman posing as a maternity ward nurse on April 26, 1964.

The mystery seemed to be solved two years later when police found an abandoned child who appeared to be the missing boy and returned him to the Fronczaks, who raised him as their own. But 47 years later, DNA tests showed that he was not related to them.

The FBI declined to confirm the case has now been solved and said its investigation was “ongoing”.
