A total of 63% of expecting parents in Dublin host baby showers with the majority spending a staggering €500 on the event.
Additionally, 60% of the parents said spending €500 on the event was an "appropriate budget".
No longer a purely American tradition, baby showers have shot up in popularity in Ireland.
And, three-quarters of Dubliners have attended a baby shower for an expectant friend, a survey by Aptaclub.ie found.
But another massively popular American tradition - gender reveals- hasn’t really caught on in Dublin with only 5% saying they’ve hosted one.
A majority of parents (58%) said they had a baby shower to celebrate a pregnancy with their friends and family in a formal fashion.
And over half of baby showers in Dublin are organised by a family member or friend.
Additionally only one in five of the baby showers invited men.
Alice Keogh, Brand Manager at Aptaclub.ie said: “Our research is the first time the lid has been lifted on baby showers in Ireland and shows just how popular the trend has become in recent years with mums-to-be.
“It’s fantastic to see that birth-related celebrations are rising, signalling that Irish women are really keen to make their pregnancies as memorable as possible.”
