Baby seriously injured after car hit pram in hit-and-run near Asda in Wrexham

A baby has been seriously injured after a car hit a pram outside a supermarket and drove off without stopping.

The baby's mother was crossing the road outside the Asda store in Wrexham when a car "clipped" the pram at around 10.45am on Wednesday, October 7.

The mother and the baby were taken to hospital where the baby is said to be suffering from serious injuries.

Police are searching for a white hatchback involved in the incident.

A North Wales Police spokesman: "A small white hatchback car clipped a pram as it was being pushed across the road near Asda, Wrexham on 7th October 2020 at approximately 10.40am.

"The baby in the pram sustained a serious injury. The car failed to stop and we are appealing for the driver to come forward.

"We are also appealing for witnesses to call 101 and ask to speak with the Roads Policing Unit quoting reference Y147907."
