Baby rushed to hospital and four arrested following reports of break-in

A baby has been taken to hospital and four people have been arrested following reports of a break-in.

Police said the group was arrested on suspicion of making threats, causing damage and breaking into a property.

Officers were called to reports of the disturbance in Stoneclough, Bolton, at around 9am today.

They attended and arrested two men, a woman and a boy, aged between 17 and 70 on suspicion of burglary, the Manchester Evening News reports.

They all remain in custody for questioning, Greater Manchester Police have said.

A ten-month-old baby has been taken to hospital but is not believed to be injured.

A GMP spokesperson said: “Officers were called around 9am this morning (Saturday 20 February 2021) to Alexandra Road, Stoneclough to a report of a disturbance.

“Initial enquiries suggest four people were making threats, causing damage and forcing entry into a property.

“Officers attended and two men, a woman and a boy, aged between 17 and 70, were arrested on suspicion of burglary.

“They all remain in custody for questioning.

“A 10-month-old baby has been taken to hospital as a precaution.”
