A car locksmith company freed a three month old baby from a car yesterday morning after a mum accidentally locked the tot in her car.
The child was rescued within minutes by Auto Key NI who have since revealed that they offer this type of emergency work for free.
A spokesman for the company said they will be on hand for drivers who find themselves in the panic-making predicament - a baby, child or pet accidentally locked inside the car.
He said: "I was on a job in Newtownards this morning when the phone rang at 10:17.
"It was a guy who's partner had accidentally locked their three month old baby in a BMW 3 series and asked us if we could help.
"We immediately dropped everything and made our way to the car in Dundonald , arriving about 10 minutes later and had the car opened in less than a minute, reuniting a very distraught mum and baby.
"As is our policy, we did not charge for this call out as we offer our service free of charge when babies, children or pets are locked in the vehicle."
